Ignition Interlock – Restricted Driver’s License

Maryland law offers many DWI/DUI offenders unlimited driving privileges during the suspension period if they have an ignition interlock device installed in their vehicle. 

An ignition interlock system is a device, connected to the vehicle’s ignition system, that measures the alcohol in the driver’s breath and will prevent the vehicle from starting if the driver’s alcohol concentration exceeds a specified legal level.
